Subject: Residential Building --9FAMea Lane = Montville, CT
Dear Mr. Rudolph:
At your request I performed a brief cursory visual structural inspection of a recent building
addition to the subject structure. Subsequent to the inspection I performed load analysis
calculations and prepared a sketch showing proposed structural modifications.
It was found that a new ridge beam with column supports is required to eliminate the transverse
loads from acting on the short exterior walls. The details of the new work are shown on the
attached sketch.
Upon completion of the proposed modifications the roof will be safe for a design snow load of
30 PSF and the attic floor will be good for light storage loading of 30 PSF.
If there are any questions please contact me.
4Very urs,
Smith, P.E.
