These permits are as follows, for a pool, deck and shed constructed under permit # B2003-0226, dated 19-May-03 and a hot tub and deck constructed under permit # B2003-0318, dated 24-Jun-03. Both are lacking the required final inspection for the issuing of a certificate of occupancy. Per section 111 in CABO of the Connecticut State Building Code, "For onsite construction, from time to time the building official, ppon notification from the permit holder or his agent, shall make or cause to be made any necessary inspections and shall either approve that portion of the construction as completed or shall notify the permit holder or his or her agent wherein the same fails to comply with this code." Please call our office at the number listed above to schedule the required inspection(s) and inform use as to the status of the work performed under this permit, in order to close out this permit. All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician. 5) Spas placed on slate, brick, or pavers etc. laid in dead sand or stone dust must be checked regularly to ensure that they remain flat and level. Periodic adjustments are usually necessary, which would require that the spa be drained and removed from the surface. After adjustments are made, the area must be adjusted back to a level and flat surface before the spa can be reinstalled and filled. Failure to maintain a level surface will cause your spa and/or cabinet to warp. 6) Spa installations on asphalt are not recommended. 7) Spas should not be placed directly on a gravel or lawn surface. 8) When placing spas on pressure-treated landscape timbers, the entire perimeter as well as the footwell must be completely supported. This method of installation must be checked for movement/settling as described in section (3) above. 9) Spas installed on concrete slabs must be poured with a minimum of 4" thickness. In areas of frost, a slab may move if proper footings below the frost line are not installed. If this occurs, please refer to section (3) above for additional requirements. 10) Spa installations on carpet are not recommended. 11) We recommend that all spas installed indoors be placed on a non-porous surface with a floor drain. Water damage caused by indoor spas is not covered under your warranty. 12) All spas installed indoors should have an adequate method of ventilation. 13) It is important to clean your spa's filter(s) regularly and keep your water properly sanitized, in accordance with the owners manual. 14) The purchase of an ozonator does not eliminate the need for the use of a sanitizer in the spa water.
