Attention Preston Land Owners To receive a permit in the Town of Preston, for any shed or garage under 400 square feet, the following requirements must be met to bring the structure.up to High Wind Building Codes. 1) The structure must have anchors in the ground that are secured-to all. four corners of the structure. 2) Hurricane, .clips (A2.1Z) must be attached, securing each stud to the floor, . 3) Straps of coil-stock (20 gauge), must be attached, securing each stud to the top plate. 4) Hurricane clips (H2.5AZ) must be attached, securing each rafter to the top plate. Fleming's Feed and Hardware will provide these anchors and clips including installation for an additional fee. These requirements are reflected in the Town of Preston Building Department, General Information -with regard to Sheds and Accessory Structures, revised August 2005.
