Uncasville, Ct. 6382 Dear Mr. Beetham: I am writing you to inform you about a problem we had with one of the applicants who filed for a Z EA Hearing. Mr. Howard Bauer, 8 Alaska Road, Oakdale, had a variance hearing before our board on November 4, 1981 requesting permission to put a porch on his house. When we went to his place on October 31, 1981, we found out that the porch had already been started and almost completed without having obtained a Building Permit or a decision from this board. This is a very embarrassing position to be put in and when we questioned Mr. Bauer about it at the hearing, he told us that a Building Inspector had come by earlier and told his wife to go ahead and start the porch. I would lik for you to investigate this matter as to who gave this permission_ and inform me as to your findings so that I may have it on record, and take precautions so that it does n )t happen again.
