This is to certify that the building at 91 Raymond Hill Road (VFW Bost
constructed as banquet/meeting hall under
Permit # 7863 conforms substantially to the requirements of the BOCA
Basic National Building Code and to the Zoning Regulations of the Town
of Montville. This building is approved for temporary occupancy as
per the following agreed upon conditions. This is approved under the
Use Group A-2 ( section 102.60f the Code) and a permanent certifierO
will be issued when the following items are completed and approved 1
inspection. These items must be completed within 60 days of the dat
of this certificate.
ITEMS TO BE COMPLETED:
1. Install handicapped grab bars in the bathrooms
2. repair holes in fire rated walls of furnace room
3. install heat detector in boiler room and storage area under stairway
4. arrows on exit signs near new bathrooms
5. alarm panel must have audible signal
We the undersigned agree that this temporary certificate shall be null
and void and the use and occupancy discontinued if these items are not
completed within the allotted time.

RE: VFW - Final Inspection
Russ;
As a result of the final inspection conducted on i:his date,
at the Montville VFW, Post 10060, the following minor deficien-
cies were noted:
1 . Boiler Room
a. ) Many ceiling and wall penetrations need to be filled.
b. ) Heat detector not installed in the Boiler Room as
requested in plans.
c. ) Main alarm Panel wiring inside needs to be ty-rapped
because wires are getting pinched in door hinges.
d. ) Alarm Panel - contains no audible signal to signify
when panel is in trouble or loss of power.
2. New Rest Rooms (new hall) Exit light has arrow showing
wrong egress direction.
3. Storage Room under stairwell (new hall) - Heat detector
shall be provided in this area. Originally not shown on
plans submitted.
It is the professional opinion of this Inspector that the
above deficiencies will not hinder life safety or prevent your
office from issuing a Certificate of Occupancy.

You are hereby notified that a violation at the above referenced
property, under Connecticut Amendment, Section 117.4 of the Connecticut
State Building Code, may exist. (see enclosed)
This violation consists of: possible use of the new addition without the
required final inspection and Certificate of Occupancy. It is illegal for any
use of this addition without the Certificate of Occupancy and if this
violation does exist this office will be forced to take legal action to gain
compliance with all applicable laws.
If this violation is a fact, you must comply with the requirements of
Section(s) : 119.1 of this Code within: 10 days of
the above date.

RE: Results of Final Inspeciton
ATTENTION: Post Commander
Mr. McLean;
Enclosed is a copy of the final inspection of the new addition on your
facility. I also indicated that the minor deficiencies cited in my report would
not hinder life safety and should not prevent a Certificate of Occupancy from
being issued.
I would also like to point out the following items to you that were required
by the alarm company that I did not find:
1 .) Corridor leading from the Main Hall to the Small Hall near Exit - I
requested a Fire Alarm pull-station, horn and strobe light.
2.) Same area as above - I requested a smoke detector be provided here.
3. ) Furnace Room - I requested a heat detector, none found.
4. ) Stairwell to 2nd Level - I requested 2 smoke detectors; one at the top
of the stairs and one at the bottom of the stairs, none provided.
5. ) Existing Building 3rd and 4th Floors - I requested smoke detectors in
hallways and heat detectors in each room. No smoke detectors noted.
6: ) In orginal plans submitted, they did not iidicate a storage area under
the stairwell leading from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor. This area
will have to be provided with a heat detector to satisfy the code.
I will be available to assist you and your organization in correcting the
above. If you have any questions or comments, please contact the undersigned.
