Dear Mrs. Dufresne:
Thank you for your recent letter.
Sidewalk work is taking place before month's end. While we appreciate your
inquiry about painting your new porch, our records, indicate that you had not
received permission from Jensen's to construct a porch.
Please check your Lease Agreement which clearly states "An addition to a home
is permitted so long as such addition conforms to the local building code, is
approved by the appropriate local authority and provided that a written request,
together with plans, is submitted to and written authorization is given by the
Owner prior to the start of construction."
While our Inspector, Bob Walsh, determined the specifications and materials
used were suitable, Jensen's would be within its rights to demand the dismantling
of the porch if the project had not met the standards outline in the Lease. We are
granting post approval primarily to enable you to obtain a permit from the Town
of Uncasville.
Please send a copy of the Building Department's permit to the corporate office as
soon as possible.
