Step 2-Contact Zoning Office; Inquire into feasibility.
Step 3-Talk to Troop Leadership, get permission to start project
Step 4-Explore land that the trail might go on, get an idea for the route.
Step 5-Complete Eagle Project Proposal packet, send to District Eagle Coordinator.
Step 6-Flag trail route and have it surveyed.
Step 7-Complete project proposal and narrative
Step 8-Meet with appropriate commissions and obtain the needed permits
●Inlands and Wetlands Commission, IWC permit
●Planning and Zoning Commission- 8-24 review
Step 9-Present proposal to the Town Council- 8-24 ordinance and resolution.
Step 10-Start applying for grants and looking for donations
Potential Donors:
●Home Depot
●Lowes
●Montville Hardware
●Harbor Freight
●Action Equipment Rentals
●Pepsi and/or Coca Cola
●Stop and Shop
Step 11-Purchase all materials and supplies for the trail
Step 12-Start cleaning the trail along the flagged route.
●Cut branches
●Clear undergrowth
●Cut small trees in path
●Blaze trees/rocks
●Clear/Rake leaves off trail
Step 13-

Construct the bridges
1.Pre-cut lumber for easier on-site construction;
2.Bring materials to the sites
3.Use blue-prints and instruction from experienced bridge-builders
Step 14-Check to make sure everything is completed; fix/finish anything not satisfactory
Step 15-Finish Eagle Project packet- this will be a continuing thing through the whole
project.
Step 16-This is where I will turn the trail over to the town officially- not sure to who yet
though.
