P.O. Box 241Higganum, CT. 06441 Re: Wetland delineation, Rasmussen Property, Old Colchester Rd. Montville, CT. Dear Mr. Bennett, At your request I have delineated the inland wetlands and watercourse on the above referenced 24.6-acre property located on Old Colchester Road in Montville, CT. These wetlands have been delineated in accordance with the standards of the National Cooperative Soil Survey and the definitions of wetlands as found in the Connecticut Statutes, Chapter 440, Sections 22A-38. Fluorescent pink flags with a corresponding location number delineate the boundary between the upland soils and the inland wetlands/watercourses that were found. Flag numbers WF-1 through WF-29 delineate a palustrine forested wetland and intermittent watercourse found in the southern portion of the property. On the date of the delineation, (4/4/2022), the wetlands were inundated and the watercourse was found flowing to the southeast off the parcel. Flag numbers WF-1A through WF-33A delineate a similar palustrine forested wetland and intermittent watercourse in the western portion of the parcel. Flows in the watercourse originate from groundwater breakout from springs and an old well. The watercourse was found flowing to the east off the parcel. Flag numbers WF-1B through WF-24B delineate a narrow palustrine forested wetland and intermittent watercourse in the northern portion of the parcel. The watercourse flows onto the property from a forested wetland located on the adjacent property to the northwest, and exits the parcel on the northeast property corner. This watercourse was also flowing on the date of the delineation. Flag numbers WF-1C through WF-18C and WF-1D through WF-28D delineate an intermittent watercourse that flows east, adjacent to the northern property boundary. It then enters the forested wetland located in the northeastern corner of the parcel. This watercourse was also found flowing on the date of the delineation. These inland wetlands have formed from the persistent wetness associated with the seasonally high water tables, and groundwater breakout. These delineated wetland soils are characterized by thick organic “A” horizons, shallow redoximorphic features and low chroma colors within 20 inches of the soil surface. In conclusion, if you have any questions concerning the delineation or this report, please feel free to contact me. Thank you, Joseph R. Theroux Joseph R.
