With that said, your proposal with secondary containment and a conditional approval would be acceptable to us. Thanks for working with us on this and feel free to share this email with Montville. My boss offered a solution that I wanted to get your thoughts on. We have a customer, Heritage Crystal Clean, who made giving us lanes conditional upon us equipping our trailers with secondary containment inside the trailer. The wood floors were sealed and then we welded a metal floor and a short wall to serve as a secondary containment inside the trailer. The exit is fitted with a custom removable bar that is sealed with an oil boom. We could ensure that only these trailers are used at the Enterprise Lane location. Please see the pictures attached. This an example of one of the trailers. The first picture is of the nose of the trailer at the corner to illustrate the wall. The second picture is of the floor and side. Is this something you would consider as proper secondary containment? We’d be happy to make using these trailers conditional of our approval. Let me know what you think. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks! I have concerns about the use and the late information. I cannot provide comments in time for the meeting this evening. If this location is within the new london watershed, which is why I assume I received the plans then I have major concerns about storage of bulk hazardous waste within the watershed. I am happy to discuss further but my recommendation at this point would be to not allow this use. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe .*** Good afternoon Mr. Lanzafame, I am contacting you to provide some additional information regarding the attached site plan for 14 Enterprise Lane in Oakdale mailed to your attention earlier this month. The business that will be using the facility is MXI, Inc. MXI, Inc. runs household hazardous waste collections events throughout Connecticut on the weekends from March through Thanksgiving. Supply trailers will be delivered to the site on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning and would contain pallets, empty 55-gallon drums, and empty one cubic yard boxes. The trailers will be returned to the site after the collection events prior to returning to the terminal on Monday or Tuesday. The trailers would contain extra supplies, latex paint for recycling, and light bulbs. Depending on the volume of the collection event, trailers may also contain oil-based paint cans stored in the cubic yard boxes inside the trailer. No waste would be transferred from the trailers or handled in any way at the site. I apologize for the extremely late notice, but if you could provide any questions or concerns in advance of the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting tonight we would appreciate it. Thank you!
