Section 22a-40. 320 Maple Ave is a 57.06 acres of undeveloped property in the R-40 Zone and contains regulated upland & wetlands areas and an intermittent watercourse. The property has 327-feet of frontage on Maple Ave and 69-feet of frontage on Gay Hill Rd, from which the site will be accessed (ingress/egress). Hull Forest Products, Inc. is proposing to conduct a timber harvest on approximately 50-acres. There is two intermittent drainage crossing, which will be reinforced with corduroy and/or portable timber bridges that will be removed upon completion of the project, which is estimated at two (2) months. Attached are the narrative and map from Applicant. - The Commission will need to make a finding as to whether or not the proposed activities are “As of Right” activity and, therefore, do not require a permit. Staff Recommendation: - There is no proposed relocation of watercourses with continual flow or filling or reclamation of wetlands or watercourses with continual flow associated with the proposal associated with the timber harvest and, therefore, staff recommends approval of the proposal as an “ As of Right” activity. \\planning\planningoffice$\IWC\Applications\2022\22 IWC 5 (320 Maple Ave) Timber Harvest\Staff\Staff Report (3-17-2022).docx M O T I O N (A Motion to Approve) After giving due consideration to all relevant factors, including those in Section 4 of the Montville Inland Wetland Regulations and Section 22a-40 of the Connecticut General Statutes, I move that Application # 22 IWC 5, submitted by the Applicant, Austin Burrows, Hull Forest Products, Inc. on behalf of the property owner, Lynette S. Crowley ET AL. for a Timber Harvest at 320 Maple Ave (023-037-000), Uncasville, CT as more fully described in the Application, dated 3/1/2022 and supporting documentation including map entitled “Crowley Timber Harvest Map, 320 Maple Ave, Montville, CT 06382 MLB: 023-027-000 57 +/- acres, Prepared by Hull Forest Products, Inc.. using assessors maps & field reconnaissance, dated: January, 2022” is a Permitted Use As of Right and, therefore, no permit is required.
