The plan is to remove interior trees at near center of my property in order to grow forage grass and provide pasture grazing for my livestock. In addition to the non-wetlands area of my property I want to use most/all of the 50 ft buffer area from the marked wetlands to
provide maximum pasture size for my livestock.
A soil scientist has marked the wetlands and provided a detailed sketch (“Wetlands Field Sketch #45 Ortega Drive”) verifying the limit of wetlands on my property. This is attached.
The removal of approximately 110 trees will be by tree removal contractor. The use of tree removal equipment would not touch the wetlands. There are existing trails/paths circling throughout the property that will be used for skid paths. The wetlands would not be disturbed by any of this equipment. Most of the felled trees will be used for firewood,
some lumber would be removed by lightest equipment as possible, I have a paved
driveway and will not allow heavy equipment over it. The tree cutting would be as soon as possible to take advantage of the frozen ground. Stump removal, fill in of stump holes and grading would follow. Spring seeding by lawn
tractor in April/May. I am planning to use electric fence for livestock containment. The
perimeter trees will serve as posts with additional step-in pvc posts as needed for the electric polytape.
