38 Hunters Run Planned Shed Installation Narration
Hello Coleen,
As discussed early this afternoon, below is my revised narration for the
planned setup of shed in my property:
------------------
My wife and I decided for a shed to be setup in our backyard so we can
put yard and power tools outside our house. Currently, our yard tools
are stored either in our basement or in our garage. As of today, we are
using our basement to store our mower and the grass clipping leftovers
smells bad. We intend to use our basement to be a usable living area
where we can store food and dry goods. We also use it to store our patio
furniture during winter to protect them from the elements during the
winter season.
We tried considering to put the mower in our garage during the winter
season, but it proved to be harder for us to get into a very cold car
during the winter season. We try not to start the car idle just to warm
up the interior of the vehicle.
Our alternative to setup the shed is on the border of the wetland area.
However, we observed that the area we initially thought is the path of
water especially during heavy rain since it’s a down slope from the curb
side. It might be more dangerous and expensive for us to setup the shed
on the initial location, hence deciding to find a much stable place in
our yard. This, unfortunately, is within the upland review area, which
is 50 feet away from the wetland area. However, this area is flat and
dry, not even the water come near the area.
The 10X10 shed will be bought from HomeDepot in Montville and as it has
been described to me by the store associate; it is already a pre-built
unit that will be assembled in my yard on the delivery date. The total
area of the project site will be 12X12 or 144 sq feet. The construction
will require little digging if none at all since the shed will be setup
on top of cinder blocks or whatever the installer will use to make the
footing level. There’s no need to perform clearing or grading since the
area is already free of any obstacle and is almost level. The drainage
is not necessary because it doesn’t have any water connection. The shed
installation should be completed in one day since it’s a pre-built, and
the shed will be setup during the October/November 2011 time frame.
------------------
Kind Regards,
Luisito

Mr. Nopal:
They are great. Just combine your narrative with the erosion and
sediment control list paragraph and that will be your narrative. The
detail plan of the proposal is where on the property you would like to
put the shed. My question is are you going to put the shed in the area
on your map that says wetlands or in the upland review area which is 50
ft away from the wetland? Depending on where you put it will tell you
where you need to put in the square footage of disturbance on the
application. For the October meeting the application is due in the
office by October 12th Unless you can get it in the office by noon
today, then I will put you on this month’s agenda. The process takes two
to three months so if you want your shed before November or December you
will have to be on the September agenda. Please let me know how you
would like to proceed.

Hello Colleen,
I was not able to act on this before the deadline, however, I am
OK if my application will be heard on the October meeting. Below are my
narrations of the questions from the form that I have. Please let me
know if I need to elaborate more on each item.
Kind Regards,
Luisito
(A) Detailed Plan of the Proposal
(B) Brief Description of the Proposed Project
The proposed project will install a 10X10 Shed in the wetland
area in the premises of my property.
(C) Narrative description of activities to take place on the
property
My wife and I decided to put up a shed in our backyard so we can
put yard and power tools outside our house. Currently, our yard tools
are stored either in our basement or in our garage. Right now, we are
using our basement to store our mower and the grass clipping leftovers
smells bad. We intend to use our basement to be a usable living area
where we can store food and dry goods. We also use it to store our patio
furniture during winter to protect them from the elements during the
cold season.
We tried considering to put the mower in our garage during the
winter season, but it proved to be harder for us to get into a very cold
car during the winter season. We try not to start the car idle just to
warm up the interior of the vehicle.
Our alternative to setup the shed is on the border of the
wetland area. However, we observed that the area we initially thought is
the path of water especially during heavy rain since it’s a down slope
from the curb side. It might be more dangerous and expensive for us to
setup the shed on the initial location, hence deciding to find a much
stable place in our yard. This, unfortunately, is within the wetland
area. However, this area is flat and dry, not even the water come near
the area.
The 10X10 shed will be bought from HomeDepot in Montville and as
it has been described to me by the store associate, it is already a
pre-built unit that will be assembled in my yard on the delivery date.
The assembly will not take more than a day to finish and the use of
mechanical tools may not be necessary.
(D) Errosion and Sediment Control Narrative Checklist
The purpose of the project is to install a wooden shed in my
property, which will be on the wetland area. The shed will be a 10X10
unit that will hold all the yard tools like lawn mower, grass trimmer,
and other gardening tools. The total area of the project site will be
12X12 or 144 sq feet. The construction will require little digging if
none at all since the shed will be setup on top of cinder blocks or
whatever the installer will use to make the footing level. There’s no
need to perform clearing or grading since the area is already free of
any obstacle and is almost level. The drainage is not necessary because
it doesn’t have any water connection. The shed installation should be
completed in one day since it’s a pre-built, and the shed will be setup
during the October/November 2011 time frame.
