1. THIS PROJECT IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NE'W AMERICAN LEGION POST. ALL UTILITIES
WILL BE PROVIDED UNDERGROUND. ASSOCIATED CONSTRUCTION CONCERNS WITH REGARDS
TO SOIL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL INCLUDE:
A. TRACKING OF MATERIAL ONTO PINK ROW AN SUBSEQUENT DEPOSITING INTO STORMWATER
DRAINAGE STRUCTURES FROM UNCONTROLLED ON-SITE STORMWATER RUNOFF. THIS WILL
BE CONTROLLED WITH THE USE OF A STONE CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE.
B. POTENTIAL EROSION OF FILLED SLOPES:
SLOPES WILL BE COMPACTED IN 12 INCH LIFTS, MAXIMUM USING STRUCTURAL BACKFILL
MAXIMUM SIDE SLOPES SHALL BE 3:1.
C. POTENTIAL EROSION OF DISTURBED AREAS:
NEW SEDIMENT FENCE SHALL BE THE FIRST ITEM OF CONSTRUCTION. THE SEDIMENT FENCE
SHALL BE INSTALLED AT ALL DOWN GRADIENT LIMITS OF DISTURBANCE AND SHALL BE
MAINTAINED UNTIL ALL DISTURBED AREAS ARE PERMANENTLY STABILIZED.
2. CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE FOR SOIL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROLS:
A. A PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING WITH THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT SHALL BE HELD PRIOR
TO THE START OF SITE CONSTRUCTION.
B. THE PROPERTY OWNER SHALL DESIGNATE AN INSPECTOR, NTH EXPERIENCE IN SEDIMENT AND
EROSION CONTROL THE INSPECTORS NAME. ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE SHALL BE PROVIDED
TO THE TOWN PLANNING DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION.
C. INSTALL TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE, SEDIMENT FENCES AND/OR HAY BALE
BARRIERS AS SHOWN ON THESE PLANS.
D. CLEAR TREES, ASPHALT, SHRUBS AND BRUSH IN AREAS WHERE GRADING WILL BE REQUIRED
AND GRUB AREAS TO REMOVE ALL STUMPS, ROOTS, ETC. DISPOSE OF ALL MATERIAL CLEARED
AND GRUBBED OFF SITE.
E. EXCAVATE FOR FOUNDATION.
F. EXCAVATE AND/OR FILL WORK SITE TO SUB GRADE LEVEL FILL WILL BE PLACED AND
COMPACTED IN 8 INCH LIFTS AND SHALL BE FREE OF BRUSH, RUBBISH, LOGS, BUILDING
DEBRIS, OR ANY OTHER OBJECTIONABLE MATERIAL MOISTEN SOIL SURFACE PERIODICALLY

G. INSTALL SITE UTILITIES. ADD EROSION CONTROL DEVICES AS NEEDED.
H. PLACE AND COMPACT BASE MATERIAL TO FINAL GRADE. INSTALL PAVEMENT, LANDSCAPING,
ETC.
I. ALL DISTURBED AREAS NOT COVERED BY BUILDINGS, PAVEMENT AND WALKS SHALL BE
GRADED AND STABILIZED AS FOLLOWS:
1. PLACE A MINIMUM OF 4 INCHES OF TOPSOIL IN ALL AREAS. APPLY LIMESTONE AND
FERTILIZER IN ACCORDANCE WITH SOIL TEST RECOMMENDATIONS.
2. APPLY RECOMMENDED SEED MIXTURE AT RECOMMENDED RATE.
3. APPLY STRAW OR HAY MULCH ON ALL SEEDED AREAS.
4. SEEDING SHOULD TAKE PLACE BETWEEN APRIL 1 AND JUNE 15 OR AUGUST 15 AND
SEPTEMBER 30. IF OUTSIDE THESE PERIODS, AREAS SHALL BE STABILIZED WITH STRAW OR
HAY MULCH AT A RATE OF 90 POUNDS PER 1000 SQUARE FEET.
