THIS PROPOSAL INVOLVES THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 14,320 SF OFFICE
BUILDING AND AN ASSOCIATED PARKING AREA ON AN 120,226 S.F. TRACT
OF LAND LOCATED ON THE SOUTHERLY SIDE OF PECUOT ROAD, MONTVILLE,
CONNECTICUT.
THE TRACT IS PARTIALLY CLEARED LAND. THE EXISTING TOPOGRAPHY
IS GENERALLY 3-5% SLOPING DOWN AWAY %ROM ROUTE #32.
THE FXISTING SOIL ON THE SITE IS ENTIRELY HKC (HINCKLEY
GRAVELLY S!NDY LOAM, 3-15% SLOPE) AS DELINEATED ON THE SCS SOIL
SURVEY ANC THE SITE ALSO CONTAINS WATER COURSE.
THE PROPOSED SITE IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
NEW 14,320 S.F. CONCRETE BLOCK BUILDING, INSTALLATION OF NEW
BITUMINOUS CONCRETE PARKING AND LOADING AREAS, A NEW STORM
DRAINAGE SYSTEM, AND UTILITIES.
AN ANTI -TRACKING PAD WILL BE INSTALLED AT THE CONSTRUCTION
ENTRANCES TO MINIMIZE SEDIMENTS FROM BEING DEPOSITED. SILT FENCE
WILL BE INSTALLED DOWNHILL OF THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION SITE TO
MINIMIZE EROSION ONTO ADJACENT PROPERTY AND WATER COURSE. STAKED
HAY BALES WILL BE INSTALLED AROUND CATCH BASIN PRIOR TO PAVING TO
MINIMIZE SEDIMENTS FROM ENTERING THE STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM
CONSTRUCTION SFOUFNCE:
1. CONSTRUCTION WILL BE INITIATED BY THE INSTALLATION OF SILT
FENCE AND THF ANT! -TRACKING PAD AT LOCATIONS SHOWN,
2. IMMEDIATELY UPON COMPLETION OF STEP 1, EXCAVATION FOR THE
BUILDING AND RETAINING WALLS WILL BEGIN. AFTER THE FOUNDATION
IS INSTALLED, BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION WILL COMMENCE.
3. AFTER THE FOUNDATION FOR THE BUILDING AND RETAINING WALLS ARE
INSTALLED, THE SUBBASE FOR THE BASEMENT ENTRANCE AREA SHALL BE
ROUGH GRADED, BASE SHALL BE PLACED AND ROLLED AND PAVED WITH
BITUMINOUS CONCRETE.
4. AFTER THE MAIN FRAME OF THE BUILDING IS COMPLETED (STELL,
CONCRETE BLOCK, ROOF), THE SITE SHALL BE ROUGH GRADED AND
STORM DRAINAGE STRUCTUPES AND UTILITIES SHALL BE INSTALLED.
STAKED HAY BALES SHALL BE INSTALLED AROUND CATCH BASINS -
5. PLACE AND ROLL BASE FOR PAVE4141, INSTALL PAVEMENT AND
CURBING.
b. ALL DISTURBED AREAS EXCLUDING BUILDING. PAVEMENT. SIDEWALKS.
ETC. SHALL BE LOAMED (4" MINIMUM), SEEDED AND MULCHED, (SEF
GENERAL NOTES),
7. AFTER ALL AREAS HAVE BEEN PERMANENTLY STABILIZED, REMOVE SILT
FENCE.

EROSION CONTROL N',TES:
1. AFTER EACH STORM OR AT LEAST ONCE A. WEEK, ALL EROSION CONTROL
DEVICES SHALL BE CHECKED AND MAINTAINED PROPERLY.
2. MULCHING: !M'IEDIATELY FOLLOWING SEEDING, MULCH THE SEEDED
SURFACE WITH STRAW OR HAY AT A RATE OF 70 LBS/1000 SF, SPREAD
MULCH BY HAN^ OR MULCH BLOWER. PUNCH MULCH INTO SOIL SURFACE
WITH TRACK MACHINE APPROXIMATELY 2" - 3" TO ANCHOR.
3. SEEDIN1,: BETW:EN APRIL 1 AND JUNE I AND AUGUST 15 AND
SEPTEMBER 1, ALL DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY GRADED
AND SEEDED TO PROMOTE STABILIZATION OF SLOPES. SEEDING SHALL
BE DONE IN ACCOPDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING SEEDING AND SLOPE
STABIIIZATION DIRECTIVES:
A. FINE GRADE SEED BED TOGETHER WITH LIMESTONE AT A RATE OF
VO LBS.,PER 1000 SF AND 10 10-10 FERTILIZER AT A RATE OF
7.5 LBS. PER 1000 SF.
B. APPLY THE FOLLOWING SEED MIX1uRE: 45% KENTUCKY BLUE
GRASS, 45% CREEPING RFD FESCUE AND 10% PERENNIAL
RYEGRASS AT A RATE OF 1 LB. PER 1000 SF.
C. IMMEDIATELY UPON SEEDING, MULCH THE AREA WITH HAY OR
STRAW AT A RATE OF 1-1/2 BALES PER 1000 SF.
D. IF SEEDING CANNOT BE DONE WITHIN THE SPECIFIED SEEDING
CATES, SFFO WITH ANNUAL RYEGRASS AT A RATE OF 1 LB/1000

4 THE GENERAL CONTRACTORIS FOREMAN AT THE TIME OF CONSTRUCTION
