HomeMy WebLinkAboutProposed Lake Wall Project Description rv 12_22_2020 copy 3Proposed work at 55c Laurel Point Drive.
Brief Description*: There are a few components within this application:
1)Create/construct a lower level wall similar to that already approved for my neighbors at 55B and 55A Laurel Point. The same contractor, construction method and backhoe/equipment will do the work, during the Lake Oxoboxo draw down. The lower wall (located within the regulated area) will be pinned and extend from the existing wall at the North end, then angled out to align with and along the front edge of the existing dock, continuing off of the existing wall, as outlined in the attached sketch. It will be approximately 58’ in length and the height will be approximately level to the top of the footing on the existing wall. There will be two laterals/braces pinned into the existing wall.**
The trench will be approx. 42”x24”x 58’. The material removed to dig out for the
footing and wall will be placed as close to the trench as practical and then used for
backfill between the two walls, acting as support and creating a lower level tier/
landing/wave break. Approximately 10 yards of clean gravel and sand will be added
between the two walls. As with 55A & 55B a silt fence with be constructed.
Settlement cracks on existing wall will be repaired. This project will prevent any further
undermining and damage to the current wall, resulting from wave/wake activity.
2)In addition, I would like to repair or replace the two existing floating docks, each
section is 10 feet in length (see picture). The current deteriorating blue foam billets
would be replaced with more environment friendly black plastic floats, along with
upgrading hardware and pole, along with replacing some of the dock boards. If pricing
of repair becomes excessive, new docks would be alternative option. Would be
completed before or shortly after lake is returned to normal level.
3)I would like to do some minor pruning and clean up on some trees and brushes near
the stairs leading down onto the stationary dock.
*Note: #1) above was slightly updated to include questions and discussions from first IWC meeting; As requested,
the amount of new material expected to be brought on site was added. Description of extension walk was
clarified to better align with image initially supplied with the application and subsequent detailed
sketch ,requested by committee. No change between two just measures/detail added on sketch for clarity of
project scope.
**Note: As a result of the Condition outlined in the 12/22/2020 IWC approval, the original estimated measurements
in #1) above were amended (as indicated with the underlined text) to align with the subsequent sketch
provided.
