I think to be on the safe side I will still have him go through the
permit process on our end at least until your office makes the final
determination as to what permits he may need.. This way we are not
holding him up in any way. I will forward the telephone number to him
tonight and tell him to call the permit supervisor. Thanks for your help
in this matter.

I would say yes, if the retaining wall was strictly upland than maybe
not, but you said it was partly in the water, so any work below HTL is
us. Cheryl said it's possible that the recent work on the dock might
not have required a permit, but it does not appear that the original
dock was permitted either. The best thing to do is have Mr..Petrowski
call and speak to a permit supervisor 860-424-3034. We may not have
done an inspection yet, but after all this fuss someone will probably
get down there eventually.

I spoke to Cheryl and she said that work on the retaining wall will
almost definitely require a permit. Let the property owner know that
going ahead with the work after being told to contact us first will not

Hi Colleen,
This is highly unlikely! Weeks back I forwarded a complaint form to
Cheryl Chase (a Permits supervisor) about this property and I also added
that I thought the neighbor's dock wasn't permitted either. I haven't
heard anything else about it yet, which is not unusual. I've talked to
most of the permit staff and it appears that no one from this office has
been to Uncasville in the last few weeks. Cheryl will be in after 12
today so I won't know for sure til I talk to her. But there's a 99%
likelihood that this story is false. Either Cheryl or I will get back
to you this afternoon. In addition you probably know this already but
the Liebig's on Massapeag Point Road pleaded no contest to the
violations and have been ordered to remediate the area.

Do you have a follow-up to this activity. The owner indicated that
someone from your office inspected the property and indicated that no
permits would be required from your office. I just wanted to verify
this. We are making him come in for the construction of the retaining
wall without a permit this Thursday. Please let me know any information
you have.

Recently the office received a complaint from a neighbor regarding work
being done on the neighbors property without a permit. After inspections
it was found that there were no permits from any Town departments for
any works that was being done on the property. Please find enclosed
pictures for 33 Cove Road in Uncasville. It appears as though a dock was
constructed in a tidal wetland area without a permit. The property owner
information is
