SHALL BE WATERTIGHT. JOINTS SEALED WITH ASPHALT, CEMENT
OR EQUAL. CONCRETE SHALL BE 4000 P.S.I., 28 DAYS,
REINFORCED WITH 6x6 — 10x10 GAUGE WIRE MESH. THE TANK
SHALL BE PLACED ON A 6 INCH MINIMUM LAYER OF COMPACTED

ALL TOPSOIL IN THE VICINITY OF THE SEPTIC SYSTEM FILL AREA TO
BE STRIPPED OFF AND STOCKPILED PRIOR TO THE PLACEMENT OF
FILL.
FILL MATERIAL SHALL BE CLEAN FINE OR CLEAN FINE AND MEDIUM
SAND WITH NO MORE THAN 5% PASSING THE NUMBER 200 MESH
SIEVE. FILL SHALL BE PLACED IN 6 INCH LIFTS AND COMPACTED
BY ONE OR MORE COMPLETE PASSES OF TRACKED OR TIRED EARTH
MOVING MACHINERY.
STONE TO BE 1 INCH DIAMETER (WASHED) BANK RUN OR CRUSHED
STONE.
A LAYER OF NON—WOVEN FILTER FABRIC SHALL BE PLACED OVER
ALL STONE USED IN LEACHING SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION BEFORE
BACKFILLING.
AFTER THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN CONSTRUCTED AND FILL HAS BEEN
PLACED TO NEAR FINISHED GRADE, A 4 INCH LAYER OF TOPSOIL
SHALL BE SPREAD AND GRADED TO THE ELEVATIONS SHOWN ON THE
PLAN. THE ENTIRE DISTURBED AREA SHALL BE FERTILIZED, LIMED,
SEEDED, ROLLED AND MULCHED WITH HAY OR EQUAL.
THE LEACHING SYSTEM SHALL BE PROPERLY COVERED WITHIN TWO
WORKING DAYS FOLLOWING LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENTS INSPECTION
AND APPROVAL.
IF THE INSTALLER OF THE SYSTEM FINDS ANY ACTIVE GROUNDWATER,
MOTTLING OR OTHER SITE LIMITATIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION WORSE
THAN THOSE SHOWN ON THE PLAN, HE SHALL IMMEDIATELY STOP
WORK AND CONTACT THE REVIEWING HEALTH AGENCY AND THE
DESIGN ENGINEER FOR NECESSARY REVISIONS TO THE PLAN.
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT A REGISTERED ENGINISER INSPEGT THE'
PROPOSED SEPTIC SYSTEM DURING CONSTRUCTION TO ENSURE THAT
THE SEPTIC SYSTEM IS INSTALLED ACCORDING TO THE PLAN. THIS

USED. THIS IS TC ENSURE THE QUALITY IN RELATION TO THE
DESCRIBED SPECIFICATION AND THE A::CEPTABkL T`r OF THE
COMPACTION PROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO THE
INSTALLATION OF THE SYSTEM ELEMENTS.
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT A REGISTERED LAND SURVEYOR PROVIDE
CONSTRUCTION STAKE—OUT FOR BOTH LOCATION AND ELEVATIONS
FOR ALL MAJOR COMPONENTS OF THE SEPTIC SYSTEM AND HOUSE
PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION BY THE INSTALLER OF RECORD.
IN THE EVENT THAT THE RESERVE AREA AS SHOWN IS EVER USED,
A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER MUST BE EMPLOYED TO DESIGN
ANY CHANGES OR ADDITIONS TO THE SEPTIC SYSTEM SHOWN HEREIN.
THE FINISHED FLOOR AND/OR TOP OF FOUNDATION ELEVATIONS
SHOWN ON THIS PLAN ARE APPROXIMATE. THEY MAY BE RAISED
BUT NOT LOWERED UNLESS APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER.
THE WELL MUST BE PLACED A MINIMUM OF 75 FEET FROM ANY PART
OF THE PRIMARY OR RESERVE LEACHING AREA, NOR CLOSER THAN
25 FEET TO HOUSE FOOTING DRAIN OR A DRAIN CARRYING SURFACE
WATER.

OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE:
IN GENERAL, EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL AND
RESTORATION MEASURES SHALL CONFORM TO THE "GUIDELINES FOR
SOIL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL — CONNECTICUT" PUBLISHED
BY THE CONNECTICUT COUNCIL ON SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION,
JANUARY 1985, AND TO LOCAL TOWN REQUIREMENTS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE DAILY INSPECTIONS OF THE SITE TO
ENSURE EFFECTIVENESS OF EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL
MEASURES AND IMMEDIATELY MAKE NECESSARY REPAIRS.
ALL CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC SHALL ENTER AND LEAVE BY THE
DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE AS SHOWN ON THE PLAN.
WHEN IT 1$ NOT POSSIBLE TO PERMANENTLY STABILIZE A DISTURBED
AREA OR WHEN GRADING ACTIVITY HAS TEMPORARILY CEASED FOR
A PERIOD OF TIME EXPECTED TO EXCEED ONE MONTH, TEMPORARY
SOIL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE IMPLEMENTED AND
MAINTAINED UNTIL PERMANENT CONTROL MEASURES ARE IMPLEMENTED.
ADDITIONAL CONTROL MEASURES IF REQUESTED BY THE TOWN SHALL
