SILT FENCE SHALL BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO ANY SSDS, DRIVEWAY, HOUSE CONSTRUCTION, OR STUMP REMOVAL. 3. TOWN SANITARIAN OR HEALTH DEPARTMENT MUST BE NOTIFIED BEFORE ANY PORTION OF THE SSDS IS CONSTRUCTED AND PRIOR TO BACKFILL OF ANY PORTIONS. 4. THE INSTALLER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR AND ADEQUATELY COMPACT ANY FILL THAT IS REQUIRED OR USED FOR OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SSDS. SAID FILL SHALL BE PLACED IN 6"-8" LIFTS AND SHALL BE MECHANICALLY COMPACTED. 5. THERE SHALL BE NO CUTS WITHIN 50' OF THE DOWNHILL SIDE OF THE SYSTEM OR WITHIN 25' OF THE SIDES OF THE SYSTEM. THERE SHALL BE NO STUMPS OR BOULDERS BURIED WITHIN 50' OF THE DOWNHILL SIDE OF THE SYSTEM. THERE SHALL BE NO FOOTING DRAINS OR STONE PLACED AROUND OR UNDER ANY PROPOSED STRUCTURE WITHIN 50' (DOWN GRADIENT) OF THE SSDS. 6. SHOULD ANY SIGNIFICANT VARIATIONS FROM TEST HOLE DATA SHOWN (LEDGE, WATER, MOTTLING, SOIL TYPE) BE DISCOVERED BY THE CONTRACTOR, THE ENGINEER SHALL BE NOTIFIED PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE SSDS. 7. IN GENERAL, ALL CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES, AS PER THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES GUIDELINES, SHALL BE ADHERED TO. THE FOLLOWING OUTLINES SOME OF THE MAJOR PROCEDURES, BUT DO NOT RELIEVE THE CONTRACTOR FROM FULL COMPLIANCE DUE TO THEIR LACK OF MENTION BELOW: A. ALL TOPSOIL, STUMPS, AND BOULDERS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE AREA OF THE SYSTEM AND SYSTEM FILL. NO MACHINERY OR VEHICLES SHALL BE ALLOWED ON THE EXPOSED NATIVE SOIL, STRIPPING SHOULD NOT TAKE PLACE WITHIN 48 HOURS Or A RAIIN STORM OR IF THERE STANDING PUDDLES. B. THE EARTH SHALL BE SCARIFIED PRIOR TO FILL PLACEMENT. GRAVEL FILL SHALL MEET DOH SPECIFICATIONS AND BE PLACED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NOTE 5. C. NO TRUCKS OR HEAVY MACHINERY SHALL BE ALLOWING IN THE STRIPPED AREA UNTIL 12" OF GRAVEL FILL IS IN PLACE. SPECIFICATION NOTES: 1. "SELECT FILL MATERIAL," PLACED WITHIN AND ADJACENT TO PROPOSED LEACHING AREAS SHALL BE COMPRISED OF CLEAN SAND AND GRAVEL, FREE FROM ORGANIC MATTER AND FOREIGN SUBSTANCES. THE FILL MATERIAL SHALL MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER FOR USE WITHIN THE LEACHING AREA. A.
