Hi, Colleen. Of course you are welcome to walk my site whenever you
like. I happen to be taking vacation this week and I walked the
property yesterday. I will admit that I did not walk the Montville
portion simply because the closest area of reported disturbance was on
the east side of my property in East Lyme. When I walked the east side
of the site, I found nothing unusual other than a new path from the
Chapman’s property onto one of my existing trails. The only ATV tracks
were on pre-existing paths – both across the power lines and either
underneath or along side them. These paths are part of the CL&P right
of way and although parts of them are in wetlands, they are authorized
to be used as paths. I met with Gary Goeschel in East Lyme today and
that is what he mentioned to me. Frankly, it seems as though the
Scheels are upset about the noise and are grasping at straws to find a
reason to stop their neighbors from riding their SUV’s where they can
hear them. They appear to be trying to use the wetlands on my property
as a lever I am disappointed and feel I am being used as a pawn here.
But my feelings are not relevant. By all means, please walk the
property at your convenience. I would appreciate an e-mail or a phone
call on my cell, below, once you have finished to let me know if you
found anything unusual. (Actually, I can try to get out of work early
next Tuesday or Wednesday if we could walk the property late in the
afternoon, like 4:00 or 4:30.) Let me know.

done. Unfortunately if there is any disturbance to the Montville
Wetlands then I will have to take appropriate measures being that you as
the property owner are responsible for the wetlands on your property. I

Harry Heller passed your e-mail on to me yesterday and I immediately
called Bob Scheel who explained what was going on. I actually live in
CT now full time but am still not at the property often. I will try and
wander toward the rear of the property over the next few days and take a
look at what kind of damage is being done and will work with Bob and
East Lyme to figure out how to resolve the matter. I doubt the activity
reaches all the way down to the Montville side of the property but I
will let you know.
