It appears as though the waterfalls you have created are creating flooding issues on the property across the street. At this time the Commission will need to revisit your approved wetlands permit in order to resolve this issue. The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for July 17, 2008 at 7:00 pm in the Town Hall Council Chambers and will require you and/or a representative to be present. The Public Works Director also indicated that he would see if the pipe itself was clogged. The next meeting of the Commission will be July 17th at 7:00 pm in the Town Hall Council Chambers. Town of Montville Planning Department Inspection Report Date: 6-24-08 Location: 272 Fitch Hill Rd Purpose of Inspection: Complaint form Inspected By Wetlands Officer Public Works Director Town Engineer Staff received a complaint regarding the flooding of the property located at 223 Gallivan Lane. The property owner explained her concerns. She has provided pictures of her property that indicates flooding during excessive rain storms. She indicated that she has always had a wetland area on the property, but over the past few years this area has increased. She believes that the water is backing up on her property from the dams that were created on the property located at 272 Fitch Hill Rd. An inspection was made of the property on June 24th. The Public Works Director indicated that he would examine the pipe under Gallivan Lane and determine if any maintenance was required. Both the Public Works director and the Town Engineer reviewed the drainage swale and indicated that the work that was done on 272 Fitch Hill Rd has the potential to create a backup in the pipe and onto the property at 223 Gallivan Lane. The pictures show the back up that is created on her property. This matter will be discussed at the July 17th meeting of the Commission.
