ONSTRUCTION SUUENCE
The following sequence is on anticipated order of construction activities and is provided to ensure on
effective and planned project schedule. Any changes the Owner nnokms to this schedule ahoU be submitted
to the Town Environmental Staff in advance of any activities. The anticipated construction date of this
project is the Fall of 2001 or as soon as o|| applicable permits are granted. Completion of this project
and final stabilization is projected to be the Spring of 2002.
1. Installation of E 0c S controls in ocoordonce with the approved plan and details may begin. Limits of
clearing must be delineated in the field ond approved by Town Staff prior to the commencement of any
construction. (E &c S controls to be installed after clearing and before any grubbing).
2 Commence clearing and grubbing.
3. Stock pile areas shall be encircled with hay bales or silt fence. If stockpiles nnrnuin for more than 30
days they ohoU be seeded with annual rye gross at the rote of 1 |b. per 1000 o.f. No stockpiles oho|/ be
permitted outside of the proposed posture area.
4. Removal and stockpiling of topsoil may begin Seed with annual rye.
5. Excavation of material for pond construct/on Stockpile in stockpile area until drained. All material is to
eventually be removed from the site.
Loorn, seed and vegetate orona above the pond water elevation as soon as possible.
7. After all rnoterio|o have been removed from site, install posture fence.
8. Finish looming and seeding of all exposed areas. If onyos cannot be seeded within the recommended
seeding dotws, temporary mulching and seeding ohoU be applied to protect the soil surface. Permanent
seeding ohoU be applied as soon as poss}b|e. Consult the Connecticut Guidelines for Soil Erosion and
Sedimentation Control Manual.
0. E 8c 3 measures ahoU remain in place until site is stabilized and approved by the Environmental Staff.

The subject site is located 55 Fe|mwa Rood. in Oakdale, Connecticut The overall property consists of o total area of 31 acres. The
subject site is located opproxinno-e|y 2200 feet north of the Old Colchester Rood intersection' on the west side of Fellows Rood. The
proposed site will consist of o 1 E'ocre form pond and o .J acre posture, The existing site conditions consist of on existing hmume

natural resources include wetlands ond on intermittent stream. The upland soil type in the areas of development is categorized as Canton

the major installation measures bub done not relieve the Owner from installing further measures as may be necessary. The Owner mho||

SEEDING GUIDELINES:
Fino| stabilization of disturbed onc graded upland oreos' unless otherwise noted, oho|' be loomed and seeded Loom shall be placed at
o nnininnurn compacted depth of 4" Recommended seeding dotes for permanent vegetation oho}| be between April 1 through June 15
and August 15 through 3eptmrnbe' 15 Temporary vegetative measures shall consist of an annual or perennial rye grass with
recommended seeding dates being from March 1 through June JO and August 1 through October 15 Evaluate proposed cover mater' a!
before spreading over the deoignosed area, obtain o representative soil nornp|e and submit to o reputable soil testing laboratory for
ohernioo| and physical ono|yaio 74his preliminary toot is necessary to determine the required inorgonio ond/or organic amendments that
are needed to assist in establishing the seed mixture in on environmentally on economically sound manner, The results will give the
cove material characteristics
chorootmriotioa such as pH and fertilization needm. Proposed cover material should be spread evenly over the site area in
o minimum4' lift via bulldozer/bloader. Using the inforrnotion from the soil ono|ya|a, carefully calculate the quantities of
limestone and pre -plant fertilizer needed prior to applying. Pre -plant amendments can be applied with o broadcast ond/or drop seeder
and incorporated with on off -set d/o4, yurk ruke, ond/or hand rake. After incorporating the pre—plant soil amendments, the seed bed
should be smooth and firm prior to seeding. The following seed mixture shall be used:
'
Level Spreader, Outlet, and Impoundment Area Seed Mixture
Tall f scue K-31' 0.5
Red o 'Common' 0.1
Bird 3f ,)ot trefoil Viking' 0.1
The preferred time for seeding thd ' cool season mixture is late summer. Soil and air temperatures are ideal for seed germination and
seedling growth. Weed competitic-1 is reduced because seeds of many weed species germinate earlier in the season. Additionally,
herbicide use is greatly reduced. 4hen seeding, to ensure uniform coverage, half the seed mixture should be sown north to south, and,
the other half east to west using T c manual broadcast or gravity drop seeder. If a broadcast or gravity drop seeder is selected, lightly
drag the seed into the top 0.25 ' 6 0.33 inches of soil with a hand rake. Newly seeded areas should be mulched to insure adequate
moisture for successful turf establ hment and to protect against surface movement of sediment—bound agrochernicals and soil erosion.
Apply good quality straw or hay ca rate of 2 bales/1000 sq. ft. Other commercially available mulches can be used. In other areas
of steep slopes, concentrated run4f, or other highly erodable areas may need surface treatment of a geotextile matting. The following
list is to be used if unforeseen pmblems arise in the above noted areas: Erosion Control Geotextile Mat (ECGM) Temporary
