DEVELOPMENT
Proposed Development will oUovv for the construction of o Propane Distribution Facility
along with associated parking, landscaping, well and septic system.
SOILS
The proposed site is composed of the following soil types:

DEVELOPMENT SCHEDULE
It is anticipated that grading and construction activities will begin September 2000 and
will be completed by Spring 2001.
SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION (SITE WORK)
1. Install erosion and sediment control devices.
2. Sowout @« remove pavement and curbing at entrances.
J. Complete rough grading. Install utilities and drainage.
4. Install subgrade for proposed bituminous.
5. Install concrete walks and install light bases.
6. Install bituminous binder course and curbing,
7. Place stone surface.
B. Install fencing.
9. Complete final grading and p|000 finish bituminous course.
10. Provide landscaping, |oorn, seed and rnu|oh side slopes and disturbed areas.
11. Provide striping & signage.
12. Rennuws erosion and sediment control,
DEVELOPMENT CONTROL PLAN
Prior to the commencement of operations in accordance with any permit issued by the
Town of Montville, the Contractor shall install oil erosion and sediment control devices,
The Contractor shall obtain o site inspection from the Town of Montville Zoning
Enforcement Officer to ensure that all erosion and sediment control measures have been
installed in accordance with this narrative. Upon certification with respect to the
installation of erosion and sediment control measures, the Contractor may commence
operations pursuant to the permit. Erosion and sediment control devices shall be installed
in accordance with the "Filter Barrier Installation & Maintenance" and "Hoy Bole Installation
& Mointenonce" sections of this narrative hereinafter contained.
Dust control will be accomplished by spraying with water.
Existing catch basins' within the ||rnibs of construction, must be protected with on inlet
sediment control device. The proposed planting schedule is to be adhered to during the
planting of disturbed areas throughout the proposed construction site.
Final stabilization of the site is to follow the procedures outlined in permanent vegetative
cover. If necessary o temporary vegetative cover is to be provided until a permanent
cover can be applied.
Ourina the stabilization period, all erosion and sediment control devices control devices
shall be maintained in proper working order. The Dvvner's representative ahoU be
responsible for checking all erosion and sediment control rnaosures on o twice-weeWy
basis during the stabilization period and after each storm event. During the stabilization
period' with respect to the site, any erosion v/h[oh occurs within disturbed areas shall be
immediately repaired and nsstobi|ized.
Once stabilization has been completed and certification thereof obtained in writing from
the Zoning Enforcement Officer of the Town of Montville, erosion and sediment control
devices shall be removed by the Controotor.
Proposed trees will be planted with thefollowing precautions:
1. Trees and shrubs are to be planted in the spring.
2. Newly planted trees are to be stoked and supported with
guy wire.
3. Soil around trees and shrubs is to be thoroughly watered when
dry and mulch provided around the base to prevent roots from
drying out. Provide o depression at the base of oil trees and
shrubs to 'insure the water will be received.
FILTER BARRIER INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE
1 . Dig a 6" trench on the uphill side of the barrier location.
2. Position the posts on the downhill side of the barrier and drive the post
1.5 feet into the ground.
3. Loy the bottom B" of the fabric in the trench to prevent undermining and backfill.
4. Inspect and repair barrier after heavy rainfall,
5. Sediment deposits are to be removed when they reach o height of 1 ' behind the
barrier and are to be .deposited in on area which is not regulated by the Inland
Wetlands Commission.
6. Inspections and necessary repairs will be made twice -weekly,
HAY BALE INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE
1, Boles shallbe placed around all proposed catch basins with the ends of the bales
tightly abutting each other.
2. Each ho|e shall be securely anchored with at least 2 stokes and gopa between
bales shall be wedged with straw to prevent water from passing between the bales.
3. Inspect bales after each storm and repair or replace promptly os needed. Remove
sediment behind the bales when it has reached half the height of the bale and
deposit in an area which is not regulated by the Inland Wetlands Commission.
4. Inspections and necessary repairs will be made twice-week|y.
PERMANENT VEGETATIVE COVER
Topsoil will be replaced once the excavation has been completed and the shoulders are
groded to o slope no greater than 3 to 1, Topsoil will be spread at o rnln|rnurn
compacted depth of 4 inches. Once the topsoil has been opreod, all stones two inches
or larger in any dimension will be removed
as well as debris. Apply agricultural ground limestone at the rote of two tons per acre
or 100 lbs. per 1000 s.f. Apply 10-10-10 fertilizer or equivalent at o rote of .300 lbs.
per uone or 7.5 lbs. per 1000 y.f. Work ||rne ond fertilizer into the soil to o depth of
4 inches. Inspect seedbed before seeding. if traffic has compacted the soil, net|U
