Colleen below is the narrative and I think I am going to take your suggestion with the stepping stones from Home Depot, much easier that way.. Upon receiving my permit I would like to do the following to finish my property and return it to how it was prior to the excavation being performed. I would like to have my contractor bring in approx. 6 cu. yards of topsoil. The purpose of this is to level, fill in uneven areas and cover the rocky soil that exists after the backfill was done. This would give the final seeded lawn a good base to grow again and would take care of all the exposed areas where temporary grass was planted now. Also I would like to continue to place small stones saved from the excavation along the top of the embankment. This would allow me to create a small stone edging at the top that would allow me to plant grass / plants along and in front of it. The last item was that I originally had a crushed stone walkway edged with rubber landscape edging up against and along back of my house. This was removed when the excavation was originally done. I plan on purchasing flat stones or stepping stones and placing them along the back of my house as an alternative to using crushed stone again.
