Hillyer 7 Benway Court Uncasville, CT 06382 RE: Keeping of a Junkyard 7 Benway Court, Assessor’s Map 94, Lot 21 CEASE & DESIST ORDER Dear Matthew & Tonja: Pursuant to multiple complaints, I have conducted multiple inspections of your above- referenced property. Said inspections revealed that you are keeping a junkyard as defined in the Montville Zoning Regulations, despite repeated requests for compliance by this office. Additionally, we received a complaint that an RV/Camper located on the property is being used as an illegal dwelling unit. To date, I have issued two written Notices of Violation. The first on November 23, 2016 after which minimal progress was made to correct the violations and a second & final notice on February 24, 2016, to which I received no response. Inspection of your property on July 12, 2016 with Blight Enforcement Officer, Vern Vesey revealed that no progress has made to comply and, in fact, the condition of the site has deteriorated further, in that there are additional unregistered and/or junk motor vehicles, auto parts, miscellaneous household debris and garbage stored outside. Additionally, it appears that you are storing said motor vehicles on Town property in the Benway Court Right of Way and, subsequently, that matter will be referred to the Montville Police Department for further enforcement. Subsequently, in order to avoid further enforcement action, which may include fines of up to $100 per day in accordance with C.G.S Section 8-12, you are hereby ORDERED to CEASE & DESIST the keeping of a junkyard at your above-referenced property. Appeals taken to the Zoning Board of Appeals to reverse any order, requirement or decision of the Zoning Enforcement Officer per Montville Zoning Regulations Section 22.1 (Appeals) must be taken within thirty (30) days of receipt of this Order.
