In accordance with Connecticut General Statute 29-263, your application is being rejected for the following reason(s): 1. No building permit application 2. Construction permit sign-off sheet has not been submitted 3. The foundation and building need to be designed, signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer or Architect. 4. Reuse of the existing stairs may not be feasible, the stairs will have to conform to BOCA section 1014.0 5. Electrical plan has not been submitted 6. Emergency lights and exit signs are not indicated 7. We are requesting that an Architect or Professional Engineer be retained to prepare the building plans and to do a through review of the building code due to the close proximity of this building to the main building. Fire ratings and fire separations have to be addressed. 8. The piping plan indicates that some piping and the vent stack will be supported from the building structure; proof that the structure was designed to accommodate these additional loads will have to be submitted. 9. Submit a site plan indicating all structures and delineate the flood zones on the property. The plans were rejected due to lack of detail on the building including egress and electrical. Summers Town of Montville Building Department 310 Norwich-New London Turnpike Uncasville Ct. 06382 RE: Ground Water Recovery&Treatment Building On May 14th I visited your office and the Zoning office seeking advice on how to proceed with this project. I appreciate your taking the time to indicate how to fill out the permit application form and point out what other documentation and services I would need to include with the application. I also appreciate your phone call earlier this week to tell be about some additional requirements. However, I was disappointed to receive your letter of rejection dated May 21,2001. The facts of your letter are not correct. I have not yet submitted a Building Permit Application to your office. I am in the process of gathering the information you requested as of this writing. Also, if I had submitted the application, your number one reason for rejecting it makes no sense. We are under pressure from the EPA to complete this project as soon as possible. It is our intention to comply with all the requirements of the EPA and the Town of Montville. I think it is reasonable to expect that we would all work toward that end with the same degree of accuracy. Therefore, because your letter is the first written correspondence about this project to be part of the tile, our exception to it should also be included. I expect to have the information you requested by next week and when ifs ready I will bring you the package including the Building Permit Application.
