Re: System 8 Victorian Conservatory attachment to base structure _ BUILDING DEPT.
Dear Bob,
Per your request,please find the type and number of fasteners required to support the System 8 Victorian Conservatory sunroom
designed by Four Seasons Sunrooms(17 ft projection and 19 ft front wall)with design load of30 psf roof load 120 mph wind speed
exposure C as per 2003 International Building Code. This design is valid only for the concrete(fc' =2500psi or stronger)or wood base
(Douglas fir, larch or stronger)where the sunroom will be supported.
Concrete base: Use 3/8"diameter Hilti Kwik II Expansion Anchors with 4-1/4"minimum embedment or 3/8"diameter Titen HD
Anchors with 3-3/4"minimum embedment.
a. All other posts to foundation:2 anchors(one at each side of the post)and 16"on center max.
b. Wall column to existing concrete structure:2 anchors at top and 30"on center vertically.
c. Rafter against the house to existing concrete structure: (4)anchors at ridge(two on each side of the ridge),(2)anchors at each eave
and one anchor at 24"on center spacing between ridge and eave.
Wood Base: Use '/z"or 3/8"(as noted)diameter Lag screws with minimum 2"thread engagement to the base.
a. All posts to foundation: (4) 3/8" diameter (two on each side of the post) and 16" on center max.
b. Wall column to existing wood base structure: (4) 3/8" diameter Lag Screws at top and 30" O.C. vertically.

Dear Bob,
Per your request,please find the type and numberof fasteners required to support the System 8 Victorian Conservatory sunroom
designed by Four Seasons Sunrooms(17 ft projection and 19 ft front wall)with design load of30 psf roof load 120 mph wind speed
exposure C as per 2003 International Building Code. This design is valid only for the concrete(fc' =2500psior stronger)or wood base
(Douglas fir,larch or stronger)where the sunroom will be supported.
Concrete base: Use 3/8"diameter Hilti Kwik II Expansion Anchors with 4-1/4"minimum embedment or 3/8"diameter Titen HD
Anchors with 3-3/4"minimum embedment.
a. All other posts to foundation:2 anchors(one at each side of the post)and 16"on center max.
b. Wall column to existing concrete structure:2 anchors at top and 30"on center vertically.
c. Rafter against the house to existing concrete structure: (4)anchors at ridge(two on each side of the ridge),(2)anchors at each eave
and one anchor at 24"on center spacing between ridge and eave.
Wood Base: Use '/z"or 3/8"(as noted)diameter Lag screws with minimum 2"thread engagement to the base.
a. All posts to foundation: (4) 3/8"diameter(two on each side of the post) and 16" on center max.
b. Wall column to existing wood base structure: (4) 3/8" diameter Lag Screws at top and 30" O.C. vertically.
