In accordance with the code modification approved by the State Fire Marshal sprinklers are not required but the rest of the R- 2 occupancy must meet all of the requirements of the 2005 Connecticut Fire Safety Code. We will need the following information or details to complete the code review. 1. CFSC 2005 section 1010 ramps, provide details on the ramp so compliance can be determined. 2. CFSC 2005 section 1012 guards, provide details on the guards on the deck. 3. CFSC 2005 section 1009 stairs, the stairs do not meet the requirements of the fire code, submit stair details. 4. CFSC 2005 section 1009 handrails, no handrail details were provided. 5. CFSC 2005 section 701.1, references the Connecticut State Building Code for fire separations. Provide details on the rated fire separations such as UL or FM. Until we get the requested information code compliance cannot be determined. Vasey II - Building Official Subject: Apartment Buildings - 36 & 46 Platoz Drive-Uncasville, CT 06382 Gentlemen: This letter report is to inform you that on this date I have performed an investigation and analysis of the soils in the area adjacent to the basements of the subject buildings. Test holes were excavated with a backhoe to a depth limited by apparent bedrock. The attached sketch provides all the details of the investigation. The soil adjacent to both foundations was found to be dry with no positive indications of a water table or moisture above or within 5 feet below basement floor elevation. As a result waterproofing of walls in accordance with IBC 1807 is not required. If you have any questions please contact me.
