We have received a building permit application for the above referenced property. In accordance with
Connecticut General Statute 29-263, your application is being rejected for the following reason(s):
1. No site plan submitted, required to show paring, utilities, grading
2. Permit fee to be calculated
3. Construction approval sign-off sheet not submitted with approvals
4. Worker's comp. affidavit not submitted
5. Dwelling units required to be separated by fire partitions in accordance with Section 708, provide
details
6. Automatic sprinkler system required per section 903.2.7, provide construction documents
7. Smoke alarms required per section 907.2.10.1.2
8. No construction documents provided for the stairs and decks
9. No dimensions provided for the decks
10. No details or information on the handicap ramp
11. Electrical plans required
12. Mechanical plans required
13. Plumbing plans required
14. The dwelling units must be designed to meet the accessibility requirements of section 1107.6.2
15. Framing details required
16. Dimensions required for rooms and spaces
17. Interior door sizes not identified
18. Compliance with the 2003 IECC required to be submitted
19. Heat loss/gain calculations required
20. More detailed and accurate plans are required to be submitted in order to do a through plan review
21. First floor decks seem to indicate walls between the units, how do you access these decks?

Gentlemen:
This letter is in response to your letter dated 10/20/06 on the same subject and provides answers
to your questions and comments. The item numbers below agree with your item numbers in your
letter.
1. Owner to provide site plan.
2. Owner's responsibility.
3. Owner/Contractor responsibility.
4. Owner/Contractor responsibility.
5. All walls separating dwelling units in same building have a minimum 1-hour fire rating. This
is shown in Section B-B on Drawing No. S2. Division walls are lined with 5/8" FR sheet
rock board which is carried from ground floor through to the roof. Ceilings of ground floor
units are lined with the same material.
6. Sprinkler subcontractor will design and obtain approval and submit shop drawings for
sprinklers when applying for a mechanical permit.
7. Electrical subcontractor will submit shop drawings for smoke alarms when applying for
electrical permit.
8. Additional design information has been added to Drawings A 1 & A2 on stairs and decks.
9. Same as Item 8.
10. Same as Item 8.
11. Electrical subcontractor will submit required shop drawings for electrical work when
applying for permit.
12. Mechanical subcontractor will submit required shop drawings for mechanical work when
applying for permit.
13. Plumbing subcontractor will submit required shop drawings for plumbing work when
applying for permit.

14. Dwelling units are designed to the requirements of Section 1107.6.2 & ICC/ANSI A117.1-
2003.
15. Framing details have been included on Drawing S2.
16. Additional dimension information has been included on Drawings Al &A2.
17. Addition door information has been included on Drawings Al & A2.
18. Energy Plan has been included on Drawing A3. It complies with the requirements in IECC
2003, Chapter 6 for Group R2 buildings.
19. Heat Loss/Gain calculations are not required when glazing area is less than 25%.
20. Additional detail information has been included on Drawings Al &A2 to assist for plan
review.
21. Revisions to Drawing Al have removed the problem.
