Uncasville, CT 06382
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Angelo:
I am writing to advise you that I have received numerous complaints from both our
maintenance staff and our administrative staff with respect to your conduct as tenants of Platoz
Apartments. Platoz Associates, LLC appreciates the fact that you were inconvenienced by the
flood which occurred in early April, 2010. However, this was an act of God and is a
circumstance completely beyond the control of Platoz Associates, LLC.
Rather than allowing you to fend for yourself, we provided temporary accommodations
for you at the Microtel Hotel in Uncasville, Connecticut; and, upon receipt of your complaints
concerning the air quality in your apartment, have provided alternate accommodations in
Building 12. These accommodations were made at no insignificant cost to Platoz Associates,
LLC.
Notwithstanding our efforts to accommodate your needs, you continue to incessantly call
our administrative staff and maintenance staff. I am therefore writing to advise you that Platoz
Apartments is not an assisted living facility. In the event that you require living assistance, on a
day to day basis, Platoz Apartments is not an appropriate residential setting for you. Our staff
can no longer dedicate the time and effort which appears to be required in order to meet your
special needs.
You are hereby advised that you must remove all of your belongings, furniture,
furnishings, etc. from the apartment at 1321 Norwich-New London Turnpike, Uncasville,
Connecticut 06382 on or before April 30, 2010. Any property which is not removed from that
apartment unit on or before April 30, 2010 will be considered abandoned by you and will be
disposed of accordingly.
You are hereby further advised that you are to make no alternations whatsoever to that
apartment unit, including any alteration to the handicapped ramp which was previously installed
for your benefit. Any damage caused to either the handicapped ramp or the apartment unit will
be deemed a cause for your immediate eviction from the premises in Building 12.
Mr. Daniel Angelo
Mrs. Linda Angelo

You are hereby further instructed that you are to only call our administrative or
maintenance personnel for ordinary and necessary maintenance requirements commensurate with
services provided to other residents and tenants of Platoz Apartments.

The landlord has to allow reasonable modifications for disabled individuals (in non-owner occupied
dwellings or owner occupied dwellings of three units or more), at the expense of the person with the
disability, (if federally assisted housing, it is at the expense of the landlord) if such modification may
be necessary to afford such person full enjoyment of the premises. The landlord may have been
justified in "chewing them out " if they did not make the request to be allowed to install the ramp first,
allow the landlord input into the particular ramp they installed, or if the ramp does not meet code
requirements.
If they or you want further guidance please call our Intake person, Dori Bruce at 860-541-3403.

Hello, I don't know if this is strictly for technical issues or if this is a viable address for communicating with staff
about ADA/EEOC issues.
I'll take a chance. I had a call from an elderly woman who was relocated by her landlord into a unit that did not
flood in the recent epic rainfalls in our region. Her husband is wheelchair bound, she is not steady on her feet.
They need a ramp for him to get up the couple or so steps to the apartment door. The landlord said he would
not put one in, so they put up a portable one, and the landlord chewed them out.
Are they on their own with this or is there relief to be found.
Thank you.
