FIELD REPORT Project: The Home Depot Client: The Home Depot, USA Montville, CT Contractor: The Widewaters Group Project No.: 05307C Weather: 20's Date: March 1, 2006 Technician: Mark Grano Purpose: To provide construction monitoring services to evaluate by observation and/or by testing whether work generally conforms to project plans. Contractor Activities: Manafort Brothers (Manafort) excavated a trench for the curtain drain at approximately 12- feet south of Station 6+20 to Station 6+00. The trench was approximately 8-feet in depth, 5- feet in width and 12-feet in length. Manafort lined the bottom of the trench with separation fabric and placed an approximate 2-foot lift of clean 3/4-inch stone. A 12-foot section of perforated 6-inch pipe was placed over the 3/4-inch stone. Manafort then placed an approximately 4-foot lift of 3/4-inch clean stone over the pipe. The stone was consolidated using the bucket of a backhoe. Manafort wrapped the separation fabric over the top of the stone. Backfilling of this excavation was not completed on this date. Commercial Painting applied two coats of Devflex HP Semi-Gloss Enamel (4216-9200) paint for the interior orange stripe on column line C, from line 3 to line 4. This writer measured the thickness of the paintwork between coats. The measurements indicated the minimum thickness requirements of the paintwork had been achieved in the above-described area. Contractor Activities: Manafort Brothers backfilled the curtain drain trench approximately 12-feet south of Station 6+00 to Station 7+50. Manafort Brothers placed one 2-foot lift of imported 5-inch minus fill in the above-described area for weather protection. A compactive effort was not applied to the above-described area on this date. This writer measured the thickness of the Devflex HP Semi-Gloss Enamel (4216-9200) paint that had been previously applied by Commercial Painting on column line C, from lines 4 to 4.5 for the interior orange stripe. The measurements indicated the minimum thickness requirements of the paintwork had been achieved in the above-described area.
